MLB Network - Uppercut System

RCS built MLB Network a custom version of Uppercut for the production of Breaking News and Special Reports. At certain times the production control room is not yet staffed, but with news and activities occuring on and off the field throughout the year at a moments notice, there is still a need for interrupting some of the pre-produced content with on-camera reports of breaking news. With an Uppercut System, they are able to have one producer control video, audio and graphics content, while maintaining a high quality broadcast. For MLB Network the system was configured to handle 4 inputs of HD video with embedded audio and a custom graphics package matching their studio look.

In addition they are able to control a Grass Valley K2 video server, easily selecting clips, marking in and out points, and recording to a K2 server all within Uppercut.
